// 要点

There are 25 mementos and the Live ending needs all of them. Three sit on boss corpses and can be lost permanently, and 16 Vessel Shards unlock the five slots you need to equip them.

Mementos are Silver Pines' passive upgrade system: 25 small objects, each with a story attached and a stat effect that stays active once equipped. They are also the gate on the Live ending, which will not trigger until you have all 25.

Collecting them is not optional if you want the full ending or the platinum. And because three of them sit on boss corpses in rooms you cannot revisit, a careless run can end at 24 of 25 with no way back.

How mementos work

Each memento is a physical object you pick up, inspect and equip. Equipping one costs a slot, and you start with almost none.

The slots come from Vessel Shards. Sixteen shards in the world combine into four Vessels, and each Vessel opens one slot, for five slots in total. Four shards per slot is the exchange rate, so a full set of slots requires a full sweep of the optional rooms.

A memento's effect is passive and permanent while equipped. Unequipping one does not destroy it, so you can swap loadouts freely once you have the slots.

The best mementos and what they do

The effects below are the ones that change how a run plays. Locations are given by district because the exact room matters more than the name.

MementoLocationEffect
Empty Matchstick BoxMiner Diner basementReload speed +25%
Chipped Ceramic BearPalm tree door roomMax stamina +10

Two of these deserve a warning. Mended Tooth is a trade rather than a bonus: more melee damage, faster weapon breakage. Chipped Ceramic Bear is the most commonly missed item in the game, because it only appears when you turn the light on and then immediately off again after the dream sequence, to the left of the sofa.

The three you can lose forever

Three mementos are attached to boss bodies. Leave the arena and they are gone for that save.

  • Corroded Iron Ball — the tunnel boss.
  • Snake Earring — Deputy Roberts.
  • Sea Polished Glass Shard — the third boss, on the left side of the arena.

The rule is simple: after every boss, walk the room before you touch the exit. There is no respawn, no vendor and no recovery option.

Why the count says 26 but the achievement says 25

The game files list 26 memento entries. The achievement, and the Live ending, count 25.

The reason is Old Corsage and Bloody Corsage: both are buried at the same dig spot in the Church Hill cemetery, and only one can be taken per save. Twenty-five is the real maximum, and a player who counts 26 in a file dump will spend an hour looking for an item that does not exist.

Do you need all 25 for anything else?

Two things. The Live ending requires the full set, and the Burden of Memories achievement tracks the same number.

The Live ending works like this: with all 25 collected, talk to the Burnt Man in the far west of the Outskirts and confirm the burn. He will not offer the furnace while you are short, which is the game's only feedback that something is missing.

The endings page covers the full route, including the two gold rings that the other ending needs.

How to collect without a second playthrough

Pick up shards as you pass them rather than planning a sweep. The slots are the bottleneck, not the mementos, and a run that ignores shards will finish with two or three slots and a bag full of unusable items.

Photograph anything you cannot reach yet. Several mementos sit behind breakable walls or pryable crates that need the Sledgehammer or the Crowbar, and the camera pins the location to your map so you can come back with the tool.

Check every boss room. That single habit is the difference between finishing the collection and restarting.

Which mementos should you equip first?

With five slots you cannot run everything, so the order matters more than the collection. Priority goes to the effects that change a fight rather than the ones that add a small percentage to a stat you rarely use.

Badge 0013 and Snake Earring are the top two once you have them, because last-round damage and fire rate both apply in every encounter. Corroded Iron Ball is the best defensive pick, and Smooth Stone with a Hole turns headshots into the main damage source if you can aim without a crosshair.

Repaired Polaroid is the one to equip while exploring rather than fighting, because it turns herbs into a much stronger heal. Swap it out before a boss.

Where do the Vessel Shards come from?

Sixteen shards are scattered through the optional rooms of the town, and four combine into a Vessel that unlocks one slot. None of them are on the critical path, which is why a story-only run finishes with two or three slots.

The shards sit behind the same gates as the mementos themselves: pryable crates, breakable walls and one-way drops. If you are sweeping for mementos anyway, you will find most of them by accident.

Sixteen is the documented count. No source we could verify publishes a shard-by-shard coordinate list, so this page gives the gate types and the district order instead of pretending to a map that does not exist.

Mementos and inventory space

Mementos are stored, not carried, but the items you find alongside them are not. Bag upgrades are the other half of the collection economy, and the Walking Storage Box achievement tracks every one of them.

That is why the collection route and the money route overlap. Bag upgrades cost money, money comes from safes and vendors, and the safes are the locks listed on the codes hub.

What about the stars?

Stars are a separate system. Five Gold Stars open the Locked Ring Box, which holds a ring rather than a passive bonus. The stars page covers those five locations, and the trophy guide lists the collection achievements that depend on both systems.
