There is no world map. Silver Pines gives you 11 district maps as collectibles, each pinned inside its own area, and the camera in your car boot lets you photograph locked doors onto those maps.

Silver Pines does not hand you a map of the town. Each district has its own map, drawn as a physical sheet pinned to a wall, and you only see that district's layout after you have found it. The first one is on the noticeboard beside the Miner Diner, and it covers the Outskirts only.

This is why "where do I go" searches for this game are usually map questions. You are not missing a menu; you are missing a piece of paper that is sitting in a room you have already walked through.

How the map system works

The map screen shows what you have collected and nothing more. There is no automatic reveal as you explore, so a district you have crossed three times stays blank until you find its sheet.

Each map is a wall-mounted plan, a fire escape diagram or a framed survey, and picking it up adds the layout to your map screen. Once collected, the map stays available for the rest of the save and shows your position in that district.

The camera changes how useful this is. You get it from the car boot at the start, and photographing a locked door pins a marker with the photo onto the map. That is the intended way to remember a lock you cannot open yet, and it is much more reliable than trying to hold four keypads in your head.

All 11 maps and where to find them

The order below follows the route the town opens in. Prerequisites matter: two maps sit behind tools, and one only appears after a puzzle.

Four sources list the same 11 locations with the same prerequisites. The only wording difference is the Sheriff Station sheet, which one guide calls a fire escape plan and another calls a station map; it is the same framed diagram.

Why your map is still empty

Two of the eleven are easy to walk past. The Church Hill map is behind a locked door in the parish hall, so it stays hidden until you have dealt with the funeral home. The Thelend map only appears after the audio puzzle in the broadcasting lot is finished.

The Sewers map is the other common gap. It hangs on the wall just inside the entrance, which means you can only collect it once you have the Crowbar and can get in at all. If your Sewers layout is blank, you probably came in through a one-way drop and never passed the wall.

Maps are also an achievement

Collecting all 11 unlocks Traces to Nowhere, one of the collection achievements on the list. That makes the map hunt part of the completion route rather than pure convenience.

The achievement does not require the camera or any photo, only the 11 sheets. If you are chasing the full list, the trophy guide groups the map, memento, coffee and inventory achievements together because they overlap heavily in the same districts.

How big is each district?

The map sheets are detailed because the districts are. One area guide counts Church Hill at 21 rooms and 65 map areas, and Riverside at 18 rooms, 48 map areas and 39 items.

That scale is why the sheets matter. A district you think you have cleared usually has a side room, a locked closet or a ladder you have not taken, and the map is how you notice the gap.

It also explains the backtracking. Riverside alone hides 39 items, so the return trip with a new tool is expected rather than optional.

The camera is the real navigation tool

The camera comes from the car boot in the opening minutes and holds an unlimited number of photos; there is no film to manage.

Photographing a locked door pins the picture to the map at that location. Later, when you have the Crowbar or the Sledgehammer, the map tells you which door you meant to come back to without a written list.

One guide describes the extreme case: a code with no carryable note, where you photograph a broken radio in a police car and reproduce the setting on a working radio later. The camera is the only way to carry that information.

Map order versus story order

The eleven sheets roughly follow the story order, but not exactly. The Crimson Bear map is available as soon as you pass the gate, while the Thelend sheet waits until the audio puzzle is finished.

That mismatch is why players finish an area with a blank map. If your Thelend layout is missing, you are not lost; you have not done the puzzle that reveals it.

Collect sheets as you enter a district rather than planning a map run later. Two of them sit behind tools, and the rest are pinned to walls you walk past once.

How to navigate without a full map

Use the camera as your notebook. Photograph every locked door, every breakable wall and every unexplored branch the first time you see it, then check the map screen when you pick up a new tool.

The town is built around backtracking, and the shortcuts you open stay open. A door you photographed in the Outskirts at hour one is usually two minutes away once the ferry runs, so the photo is often more valuable than the map itself.

For the route that matches these districts, see the walkthrough. For what is hidden inside them, the mementos page lists the 25 collectibles by area.
