Silver Pines Endings

All three Silver Pines endings: what Leave, Rest and Live require, why the final button labels are reversed, and how to see every ending in one save.

There are three endings. Leave needs nothing, Rest needs two gold rings, and Live needs all 25 mementos. The final prompt is labelled backwards: the button marked Leave is the one that spares Eddie.

Silver Pines ends in one room with one conversation, but there are three endings and the requirements are not equal. Leave asks for nothing, Rest asks for two gold rings, and Live asks for every memento in the game. Two of the three are locked behind collection work you have to start hours earlier.

The part that catches almost everyone is the button text. At the final prompt the game asks whether to kill Eddie Velvet, and the button labelled Leave is the one that spares him. Players who want to leave town press it, spare the man they meant to kill, and get a different ending than they expected.

What are the three endings?

Leave is the shortest route: choose Kill Eddie Velvet, answer the payphone outside the Miner Diner, get in the car. Rest requires sparing him and placing two gold rings in the wall behind the Rabbit Hole stage. Live requires sparing him and burning all 25 mementos with the Burnt Man in the Outskirts.

The ending names come from the game files and match three Steam achievements. Because the achievement named Leave is tied to killing Eddie, do not read the achievement name as a description of what happens on screen.

The final prompt is labelled backwards

The game asks: kill Eddie Velvet? The two options are Kill Eddie Velvet and Leave. Choosing Kill plays the Leave ending. Choosing Leave spares him and opens the path to Rest and Live.

This is not a bug and it is not one site's mistake. Every source that documents endings repeats the warning, and the achievement list confirms it: Ending: Leave unlocks from the kill choice. Read the buttons, not the ending names.

// before you press anything

Save at the phone beside Eddie first. The room has a phone specifically so you can take all three endings on one save, and the developers confirmed in an October 2026 Discord reply that this is intended.

How to get the Leave ending

Choose Kill Eddie Velvet at the prompt. There are no item requirements, no collection gates and no optional steps.

The game returns you to the street outside the Miner Diner, the payphone rings, and answering it leads to the car and the credits. This is the fastest ending and the one to take first if you are cleaning up the list, because you can reload the save and choose differently.

Leave unlocks the Switchblade modifier.

How to get the Rest ending

Rest needs two gold rings. The first comes from the Locked Ring Box on the bathroom counter at the Miner Diner, and that box only opens with five Gold Stars. The second is on Alice in the water in Downtown, and it only becomes available after you spare Eddie.

With both rings, go to the Rabbit Hole and look at the stage wall. Two ring-shaped indents sit in the plaster. Place both rings and the wall opens into a second version of the bar, which ends in a chase and a hidden boss fight against the small bartender.

This is the ending most players consider the true one, and it unlocks the Reusable Repair Kit modifier.

// the 5-star claim

Some guides say the ring box needs seven stars. The game files put the requirement at five, and the box has a state for each star from zero to five. Five is correct; the seven figure appears to have spread from a single early guide.

How to get the Live ending

Live needs all 25 mementos. Once the collection is complete, go to the Burnt Man in the far west of the Outskirts and talk to him. He offers the stove and asks whether to burn everything; confirm, and the ending plays.

He will not offer the furnace while you are short. That is the game's only signal that you are missing something, and it is easy to read as a broken trigger rather than a gate. If he refuses, count your mementos instead of reloading.

Live unlocks the Omega Rifle with 30 Magnetic Slugs.

The memento count is worth a note: the game files list 26 entries, but Old Corsage and Bloody Corsage share one dig spot in the Church Hill cemetery, so only one of the two can be collected per save. That is why the achievement counts 25.

What do the endings actually change?

Each ending unlocks a modifier, and modifiers are the game's reward for finishing a route. Leave gives Switchblade, Rest gives the Reusable Repair Kit, and Live gives the Omega Rifle with 30 Magnetic Slugs.

Twelve modifiers exist in total. Only three are tied to endings; the rest come from challenges such as finishing with a full bag, collecting every coffee upgrade or clearing the game without ranged kills.

They carry into later runs rather than changing the ending you already saw. Nothing in the world changes after the credits, and there is no post-game free roam.

Is there a canon ending?

The game does not label one. Nothing in the achievements, the store page or the developer's public statements names a true ending, so there is no canon ending to look up.

What exists is a player consensus that Rest is the most complete ending, because it is the only one that resolves the ring and the Rabbit Hole thread. Live resolves the mementos instead, and Leave resolves nothing.

That is an interpretation rather than a confirmed fact. Treat it as the community's reading, not the studio's answer.

The final room and how to prepare

The last area puts you in a conversation with Eddie and a phone on the wall. The phone is a save point, which is unusual that late and is the reason all three endings can be taken on one file.

Before you press anything, save. Then take the kill choice for Leave, reload, and come back with the rings or the mementos for the other two.

Do not walk into the room with an unfinished collection and expect a prompt. Live checks the memento count and Rest checks the rings in your inventory at the moment you act, not before.

Which ending should you do first?

Do Leave first, then reload and go for Rest. Leave takes minutes and confirms you have reached the final room with a working save. Rest needs the five stars and Alice's ring, both of which are easier to collect before the final area than after.

Live is the long one. It requires a full collection run, which means boss corpses you may have already walked past and a second pass through most districts. Save it for last, when the map is open and the shortcuts are unlocked.

If you are missing stars, the stars page lists all five locations. If you are missing mementos, the mementos page covers the 25 and the ones that can be permanently missed.
